Saskatchewan, Canada – January 25th, 2024
Global Ag Risk Solutions, a leader in the agricultural insurance industry, today announced a significant transition in its executive leadership. Grant Kosior, the current CEO, will step down from his role and transition to the position of President until May 31st, after which he will continue his association with the company as a member of the Board of Directors. David Sullivan will assume the role of CEO effective immediately.
Grant Kosior has been at the helm of Global Ag Risk Solutions for over a decade, steering the company through phases of substantial growth and innovation. "It has been a privilege to lead Global Ag Risk Solutions and work with an outstanding team committed to excellence in agricultural insurance," said Kosior. "I am excited to see where David will take the company next and look forward to contributing to our future success from a new vantage point on the Board."
Under Grant’s leadership, Global Ag Risk Solutions was the first private crop insurance MGA in Canada. Production Cost Insurance was the first private insurance product to be eligible as security with the Canada Advanced Payment Program - Cash Advance. Global Ag also developed the first private parametric product with over half a million acres insured through Canola Heat Blast Insurance. Grant's proactive leadership extended to collaborating with various levels of government to make changes to AgriStability to benefit farmers that purchase private crop and hail insurance. And Global Ag Risk Solutions provided half a billion dollars in claim payments supporting farmers when they most needed it.
David Sullivan brings a wealth of experience in agriculture, business, and technology. His appointment as CEO marks a new chapter for Global Ag Risk Solutions, focusing on continued innovation and growth.
"I am honored to take on the role of CEO at Global Ag Risk Solutions," said Sullivan. "Under Grant’s leadership, the company has established a strong foundation. I am eager to build on this legacy and lead our talented team towards new opportunities and continued success."
This transition is part of the company's long-term strategy for growth and reflects its commitment to leadership development and succession planning. "The Board is confident that David’s leadership, together with Grant’s ongoing guidance, will propel Global Ag Risk Solutions to new heights," said Kristjan Hebert, Chair of the Board of Directors. "We are grateful to Grant for his leadership and look forward to his continued contributions on the Board."
Global Ag Risk Solutions remains committed to its mission of providing innovative and reliable agricultural insurance solutions. The company is excited about the future and believes this leadership transition will further strengthen its ability to serve its clients and stakeholders effectively.
