Duties and responsibilities
  • Proactively source leads through referrals, networking, cold calling, etc.
  • Educate farmers on traditional risk management options and Global Ag Risk Solutions’
  • Production Cost Insurance (PCI).
  • Create and deliver Production Cost Insurance proposals.
  • Act in accordance with their respective provincial insurance regulations(Note: All Advisors are required to have the required provincial insurance licensing.)
  • Build and maintain relationships with various agriculture stakeholders (banks, accountants, retailers), with the goal of educating them on what GARS offers and generating leads.
  • Proactively market yourself and GARS products by performing cold calls to industry partners.
  • Assists in marketing/promotional activities as needed.
  • Assists office team with calls to producers as needed.

Working conditions
This position does not have a regular or traditional work schedule. As an Insurance Advisor, you are required to travel within your territory. Meetings and other business commitments may take place during evenings or weekends, so flexibility is necessary. You are also required to be "on call" to consult with your customer on an as-needed basis.

100% Commission-Based

Education
  • High School Diploma Required
Licenses/Certifications
  • General Insurance Level 2
    (Training and support provided)
  • Valid driver’s license
Previous experience and knowledge
  • Agricultural sales experience is an asset.
  • Insurance industry experience is an asset.
